Caledon Meals on Wheels, established in 1984, is a volunteer-driven, not for profit agency that provides meals services and social programs to residents living in the Town of Caledon, Orangeville and rural Dufferin. The agency is located in The Davis Centre in Bolton, a Long-Term Care Home operated by the Region of Peel.
The Town of Caledon is a large rural area located, along with Mississauga and Brampton, in the municipality of the Region of Peel, northwest of Toronto. Caledon is the largest of the three communities, encompassing 700 square kilometers. Many of the clients serviced by the agency live alone, distanced from family and neighbours and lacking in any form of public transportation for food shopping. With the support of the nutritional and social services offered by Caledon Meals on Wheels, clients are enabled to remain living in their homes and communities, maintaining healthy aging.
